As we wrap up the final day of the 2019 GE Digital User Conference, we are very grateful for the many partners, customers, and industry leaders who joined us in Austin. We hope our attendees leave feeling energized and confident about the opportunities enabled by the industrial IoT.
Day two of the conference was particularly special because we had the honor of showcasing our technology, featuring significant improvements fueled by your feedback:
As proud as we are of the technology we have built, we’re even more gratified by our customers who have used it to create sustainable business value. We recognize it’s not just about the technology – it’s about what the technology enables you to achieve. It was our pleasure to recognize the accomplishments of a few special customers who have achieved remarkable things through our annual awards program. This year we honored four companies.
Our first award is the business transformation award, where we celebrated Mohamed Siyam from SIG Combibloc and Obeikan for changing the way they go to market. SIG Combibloc and Obeikan are partnering with us to deploy Asset Performance Management (APM) and Field Service Management solutions on their asceptic packaging equipment. By deploying our software on the machines they sell to food and beverage companies around the world, they are moving towards an integrated digital strategy that will not only improve their ability to maintain their customers’ equipment, but also enable them to offer packaging-as-a-service.
Our second award is for the industrial company that has delivered ROI from their projects at incredible speed – presented to Thiago Nakata at Gerdau. Gerdau, the largest long-steel manufacturer in the Americas, uses our APM software across thirteen of their factories. In their initial APM implementation, Gerdau achieved ROI in just 9 months – half the time expected. The software has helped them to deliver against their wider maintenance strategy, saving them upwards of millions of dollars a year.
Our third award is for companies that are deploying industrial software at scale, given to Tim Rogers of Procter & Gamble. Procter & Gamble is one of the largest manufacturers in the world, with a hundred factories making products that we all use every day – from toothpaste to shampoo and much, much more. We were proud to announce them, earlier this year, as our first landmark customer for Predix MDC, taking MES data from dozens of Procter & Gamble factories and moving it to the cloud. This is already helping to reduce site server costs and improve factory productivity, opening the door to enterprise scale visibility and analytics.
Our fourth and final award went to Scott White at Flint Hills Resources, a major refining and chemicals company, for delivering incredible safety/sustainability. Flint Hills Resources was our co-innovating partner for APM Integrity’s Compliance Management capability launch. The firm has dozens of facilities across North America, and with that the responsibility to ensure the safe and efficient operations of its industrial assets. With Compliance Management, Flint Hills Resources is now automatically generating regulatory reports – not only helping make sure teams don’t miss maintenance opportunities, but also that they avoid regulatory issues.
Our award winners are going above and beyond to achieve remarkable transformation, but we are equally excited about the small changes being made every day across hundreds of customers. If you’re looking for inspiration, we encourage you to check out our customer stories and how they are marking changes across their enterprises to transform their operations.
