GE Research's Autonomous Systems team designs and develops intelligent robotic systems integrating robot perception, learning, and motion planning.
The goal is to have a system-of-systems that configures itself to any need and improves itself over time. We use our experience in automation and control, manufacturing, systems, and robotics to build a highly connected and intuitive system that ultimately does not need programming - at least not in the traditional sense. To get there, we use, as most do, a loosely coupled but tightly integrated architecture that allows for reconfiguration of behaviors in response to changing environment, mission, or state of the system.
We are focused on improving and optimizing the technology areas of perception, planning, motion planning and manipulation, robot learning, and cognitive robotics.
