When you innovate and manufacture critical infrastructure that powers one-third of the world and transports millions of passengers on airplanes every year, it gives you perspective and experience with the technological needs of the defense and security industries, including the US Department of Defense.  Over many decades, GE scientists and engineers have been close partners with the US defense agencies whose mission is to drive new advances to promote a safer world and to protect those who willingly put their lives on the line to protect it.

Our technology portfolio supporting defense and security needs is extensive and draws from across GE’s industrial portfolio. We apply our considerable experience in advanced materials, the design of complex turbomachinery and advanced cyber protections to support new advances and safeguard critical military infrastructure and systems. For military and security personnel, we bring an array of technologies from wearable sensors and computer vision that can help identify suspicious threats on the battlefield or in public areas to innovative healthcare solutions such as faster ways to make vaccines and new approaches in bioelectronic medicine to enable more rapid responses to emerging biothreats and improve the treatment and care of soldiers.

As federal agencies like DARPA explore the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other security technology, we’re bringing our experience integrating AI into our own industrial products and systems to support their integration into mission-critical defense and security solutions.
