Log Entries

About Log Entries

Log Entries are used to document the various findings during Shifts. From the eLog Overview page, you can create a new log entry, or access an existing log entry. When creating a log entry, you can choose from the following types, or additional Log Entry types that you have created:

  • Action
  • Generation Event
  • General

  • Safety Bypass

  • Safety
  • Shift Transition

  • Temporary Repair

  • Utility

Access a Log Entry

Procedure

  1. Access the eLog Overview page.
  2. Select one of the following tabs:
    • Log Entries : Select this tab if you want to view a list of all log entries to which you have access.
    • My Log Entries : Select this tab if you want to view a list of the log entries you have created.

    A list of available log entries appears based on the tab that you selected.

  3. In the list, select a Log Entry.

    The log entry data sheet appears on a new page.

Create a Log Entry

About this task

Note: Before a log entry can be saved, Shift records must exist in your GE Digital system. If Shift records do not yet exist in your system, you can create them using the Record Explorer.

Procedure

  1. Access the eLog Overview page.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the page, select New Log Entry, and then select one of the following types of log entries, or a Log Entry type that has been created:
    • Action: This log entry is used to document actions that are carried out.
    • Generation Event: This log entry is used to document events related to power generation.

      Note: You can create corresponding Primary Events in Generation Availability Analysis (GAA) by selecting .
    • General: This log entry is used to document general findings.

    • Safety Bypass: This log entry is used to document temporary changes to processes, procedures, or systems related to ensuring safety.

    • Safety: This log entry is used to document safety related findings and incidents, and their nature, scope, and injuries.
    • Shift Transition: This log entry is used to report findings related to shift periods and to document when shifts begin and end.

    • Temporary Repair: This log entry is used to document temporary repairs.

    • Utility: This log entry is used to document an event related to a utility such as power, steam, air, N2, etc.

    The datasheet for the selected log entry type appears.

  3. As needed, enter values in the available fields, and then select .

    The Log Entry datasheet is saved.

Delete a Log Entry

Procedure

  1. Access the eLog Overview page.
  2. Select one of the following tabs:
    • Log Entries: Select this tab if you want to view a list of all available log entries.
    • My Log Entries: Select this tab if you want to view a list of the log entries you have created.

    A list of available log entries appears based on the tab that you selected.

  3. Select the row containing the log entry that you want to delete, and then select .

    The selected log entry is deleted and the list of log entries is updated.
