Workflow provides the ability to connect to external data sources to access the data contained within those applications.
OPC Client Data Source
An OPC client provides direct access to data served by OPC Data Access (DA) servers without relying on GE Historian as a bridge between an OPC server and Workflow.
Add groups to the OPC client
You must add groups to your OPC client in order to browse the items that are stored on the OPC server.

Add groups to the OPC client

You must add groups to your OPC client in order to browse the items that are stored on the OPC server.

Before you begin

Configure the OPC server.

Prerequisites: Configure the OPC server

Procedure

In the navigator, click Proficy System > Proficy System > OpcClient.
In OPC Servers list, select an OPC server.
Click Add OpcGroup.
In the Name field, enter a name for the OPC group.
Optionally, in the Description field, enter a description of the OPC group.
Click OK.
