Add a Comment

You can compose comments with images, videos, and documents that support your comment at Receiving Inspection level, lot level, or test (quality variable) level.

About this task

Add images/videos to a comment using the camera/video option or upload them as attachments. You can copy paste images using clipboard, or drag and drop them into the rich text editor. You can also preview the image, video, and pdf file types. You can compose comments at the following three levels as needed:
  • Receiving Inspection level: At this level, you can compose comments for multiple lots in Receiving Inspection.
  • Lot level: At this level, you can compose comments for a specific lot.
  • Test (quality variable) level: At this level, you can compose comments for a test variable that is associated to a specific lot.

Procedure

  1. In the Inspection Criteria section, in the column containing the sample (either for a lot or a lot's test variable) for which you want to add a comment, select , and then select Add/View Comments.
    Alternatively, to compose comments for multiple lots at the Receiving Inspection level, in the Inspection Criteria section, select .
    The Comments window appears, displaying a list of comments in the left section.
    Tip: To modify a comment, select and to delete a comment that you have added, select .
    The following conditions apply when you modify or delete a comment:
    • You can modify or delete only the comments that you have added.
    • After you modify a comment and save your changes, you cannot view the original text.
    • After you delete a comment, you cannot restore it.
  2. Select Add New Comment, and then enter the comment.
    Tip: If needed, you can apply formatting, change the alignment of the comment, or insert a link, image, attachment, or a recording in the comment.

    You can add inline images by copy pasting from a clipboard to the Comment rich text editor.

    The maximum character limit for plain text is 7000 characters. The file size for images/videos should not exceed 25MB.

  3. Optional: Attach documents and add images/videos to a comment.
  4. Select Add.
    The composed comment is added.

    Once you have added the comment at the required levels, you can view them again at the same levels. To view the comments, at the respective levels, select .
