Introduction

An alarm is a response to one or more related events. An alarm event occurs when a variable violates an alarm condition. The alarm condition is based on alarm rules configured for the variable specification limits, such as a reject or warning limit. Alarms are configured for the following purposes:

  • To document alarm conditions in addition to reasons and actions
  • For real-time and historical analysis
  • To expose exception-based operating procedures
  • To provide quality control and dispositioning

The PA Web Client displays alarms in the Alarm View page.

The Alarms application provides a detailed list of alarms that you can view and monitor. The list includes alarms that are:

  • Acknowledged
  • Open
