Retrieving Predix Machine Logs

You can use Edge Manager to retrieve log files from the Predix Machine device when debugging an application or troubleshooting a device

Procedure

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Device Manager, then select the device for which to retrieve logs.
  2. Select Device Operations > Execute Command.
  3. In the Execute Command dialog window select Predix Machine as the platform, then select either:
    • Get Log – Retrieves the Predix Machine log from the device.
    • Get Available Logs – Returns a list of available logs on the device.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Execute Command dialog window, set the Timeout value (the default is 30 minutes) for the operation, and click Execute.
    Edge Manager requests the logs from the device.
  6. In the confirmation dialog window, click Close.
  7. In the Device Manager page, click the link for the device, then click the Commands tab.
    The Commands History displays the command history for the device and the status of each command. Once the Status displays "Success" you can click the download link in the Output column to download the log file.
