A route must be released for it to be available in a work order or a process order. The route once released cannot be modified/reverted.
As the manufacturing engineer creates routes, there is a necessity for the route to be reviewed before releasing a route, as it is an irreversible process. To facilitate a review process for releasing a route the approval process is introduced. You can create approval workflows for Release Route in the Approval Cockpit application.
The following conditions apply when you release a route:
- You can initiate route release only if it is in the draft state.
- You cannot release a route that is archived.
- You cannot modify the route while it is in Pending Approval state.
- You cannot modify a route that is released. However, you can revise or copy the route after it is released.
- After you release a route, you cannot reverse the action.
