Create a Role
A role contains a set of permissions required to perform various tasks. Example: Role1 may include, the permission to create a work order, update a work order, and so on.
Procedure
- Select Roles.The Roles page appears, displaying the list of roles.
- Select .The Create Role page appears.
- Provide values as specified in the following table
Field Description ROLE NAME Provide a unique name for the role. ROLE DESCRIPTION Provide a description for the role. - Select a role category from the ROLE CATEGORY list. The relevant permissions appear in the PERMISSIONS workspace.
ROLE CATEGORY PERMISSIONS (with description) Work Order Execution Execute a work order The ability to execute a work order by clocking on, clocking off, confirming completed quantities, logging quality variables, generating defects, and completing execution.
Consume raw materialThe ability to search for a raw material lot and consume quantity.
Create raw material lotsThe ability to create raw material lots.
Change lot identifiersThe ability to modify the serial numbers or lot identifiers within a work order.
Manually skipEnable the ability to manually skip an operation that is configured as optional.
Work Order Management Create a work order The ability to create a new work order.
Change a work order plansThe ability to change the planned start or end dates or the priority of a work order.
Change lot identifiersThe ability to modify the serial numbers or lot identifiers within a work order.
Cancel a work orderThe ability to cancel a work order that has not been started.
Edit a work orderThe ability to modify operation definitions within a work order.
Clock off othersThe ability to clock off any user that is currently clocked on.
Time Booking Moderate time booking records The ability to edit other users time booking records. This permission is only applicable at a site level resource.
Comments Moderate comments The ability to edit and delete other users comments. This permission is only applicable at a site level resource.
Process Order Execution Consume raw material The ability to search for a raw material lot and consume quantity.
Create raw material lotsThe ability to create raw material lots.
Web Administrator Administer Material Ability to manage PA materials.
Administer Non Conformance ManagementAbility to manage defect, disposition, and NC types.
Administer ToolWriteAbility to write PA tools.
Administer Engineering Change OrdersAbility to manage ECO types.
Administer Plant ModelAbility to manage the Plant Model (Areas, Work Centers, Work Units)
Administer Reasons Tree ManagementAbility to manage PA reason trees.
Administer Tool ReadAbility to read PA tools.
Non Conformance Management Allow lot split during defect creation The ability to input quantity during defect creation, which may result in a lot being split into two sublots. This permission is only applicable at a site level resource.
Create inventory non-conformanceAllows the user to log a non-conformance on material lots in inventory.
Receiving Inspection Execute a receiver Allows the user to generate defects during inspection results step of receiving inspection process.
- Switch the toggles of the permissions you want to include in the role.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 to include permissions of other role categories.Note: The Summary page appears, displaying the list of selected role categories and permissions.
- Select Create.
