Assign Groups to Models

Use this procedure to assign property groups to models or applications. You can assign property group only to a Material entity. The following models are available in Plant Applications Web Administrator:

• Material Variables
• Receiving Inspection
• BOM Item
• ERP
• Non-Conformance
• Process Order
• Route

Once the Groups are assigned to Material model then you can access and set values to Custom Properties for Materials in the Web Administrator. You must have Web Administrator installed to access the groups assigned to Material model.

When a group is assigned to a Material Model then the group along with the properties are automatically associated to all the materials. If a property has a default value, then the default value appears to the properties that are associated to materials. You can also modify a value for a property at individual material level.

If a property is modified at an individual level, then it is considered as an explicitly set value and whenever a default value is modified at a group level then it does not overwrite the explicitly set values at the individual material level. Revisions are enabled for an explicitly set values and whenever there is change in definition you can choose to apply specific revision to a property that has explicitly set values.
