Meeting global demand for cleaner oil and gas
GE brings best-in-class technology and industry expertise to build and equip mega-resource projects in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Active in Australia since the world’s first LNG train was installed on the North West Shelf in the mid-1980s, GE Oil & Gas has continued investing in the region and recently established a regional hub in Perth, Western Australia as a centre of industry expertise from where we serve our customers across the region.
GE Oil & Gas employs nearly 600 people in five major locations (Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney) to deliver the equipment, technology and expertise that is needed across the region’s oil and gas sector.
GE has established its technology and learning complex at Jandakot (16 km south of Perth) in Western Australia to support the development of skills for the oil and gas sector and provide the first in-country Services and Maintenance Facility, which includes the GE Skills Development Centre.
This multi-purpose facility and GE Oil & Gas regional headquarters in Western Australia is designed to deliver an extensive range of equipment and tooling services to our customers.
The facility includes advanced workshops to service and commission products and technology, and a Skills Development Centre designed to deliver premier engineering and leadership training.
As a Regional Service Hub, Jandakot provides support services for our Drilling & Production and Turbomachinery Solutions businesses, as well as our Subsea Systems business, for which it is the largest individual OEM support facility in Australia – with local FEED resources and dedicated engineering operations and workshop teams.
