‘I Am Still Learning’
For more than 65 years, legions of employees, customers, partners, and dignitaries have traveled to GE’s legendary Crotonville campus in New York to take part in management training and development. Now the company has decided to find an outside buyer for the 62-acre center as it moves training closer to work sites and prepares to split into three independent companies. “Crotonville will always be an important and cherished part of GE’s leadership legacy,” Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Learning Officer Linda Boff writes in this piece that captures Crotonville’s spirit and purpose.
Women in Power
Four years ago, few women worked at a giant GE plant in India that has produced more than 40,000 blades for onshore wind turbines since 2007. And there were no female leaders to speak of. But thanks to an initiative that overcame cultural challenges, the gender imbalance is rapidly changing at the Dabaspet plant, near Bangalore, operated by LM Wind Power. Read more here.
