Install Operations Hub, Historian and SCADA on a Single Machine

This topic describes the installation of Operations Hub, Historian, and SCADA (iFix or Cimplicity) on the same computer.

Before you begin

Ensure that the machine on which you want to install meets the installation requirements for these applications.
  • Operations Hub 2023
  • Historian 2023
  • iFIX 2023
  • CIMPLICITY 2023 and Webspace 6.0

About this task

In the following steps, we use the iFIX integrated installer to install the products on the same machine. For CIMPLICITY SCADA, use the CIMPLICITY integrated installer.

Procedure

  1. From iFIX 2023 ISO install media, run the Setup.bat file.
    The welcome screen appears.
  2. Install Configuration Hub and Proficy Authentication.
    For step-by-step instructions, refer to Install Common Components.
  3. On the welcome screen, select SCADA Standalone Server, then select the check box for all the products, and start the installation wizard.
  4. Accept the license agreement to continue with the install.
    The Install Location screen appears and validates for port conflicts.
  5. Continue to the next screen with the default install location for SCADA, and IFIX NODE NAME.
    If port conflicts are detected, you must fix them before proceeding to the next screen.
    If there are no conflicts, the Historian Details screen appears.
  6. Complete the following and proceed to the next screen.
    Enable Historian services security Select the check box.
    CERTIFICATE PASSPHRASE Enter a password to protect your certificate.
    CONFIRM CERTIFICATE PASSPHRASE Enter the password again to confirm.
    HISTORIAN DATA PATH Enter the location path to access Historian data.
    The Operations Hub Credentials screen appears.
  7. Complete the following and proceed to the next screen.
    USERNAME Enter a user name, which you can use to login to the Operations Hub application.

    For example, ophubadmin

    PASSWORD Enter a password for your Operations Hub user login.
    CONFIRM PASSWORD Enter the password again to confirm.
    The Select Proficy Authentication screen appears.
  8. Select the check box for Use Locally Installed Proficy Authentication and proceed to the next screen.
    Note: In step 2, we already installed Proficy Authentication as part of common components.
    The Registration with Configuration Hub screen appears.
  9. Select the check box for Register After Install and proceed to the next screen.
    Note: You have the option to register Operations Hub with Configuration Hub with the ongoing installation or post installation.
    The Start Install screen appears.
  10. Select from the following install options:
    Silent Install Select this option if you want to run a silent installation of products without any further user interaction or input. See Install Operations Hub in Unattended Mode.
    Interactive Install Select this option if you want to install the following:
  11. Select START to start the installation.
  12. After the installation is complete, close the wizard and restart your computer.
    After installation, application shortcut icons are created on your desktop.
  13. Register Operations Hub with Configuration Hub.
  14. Launch Configuration Hub and set up the authentication.
    Upon first launch, you will be asked to set up the authentication. For step-by-step instructions, refer to Set up Proficy Authentication.
  15. Register iFIX with Configuration Hub.
  16. Log in to Configuration Hub with your user credentials.
    Operations Hub and iFIX are available as plug-ins.
