London: 16 September 2014 -- GE's gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and ally alliance (GLBTA) brought together senior GE managers, employees and external diversity leaders for a discussion with Lord Browne of Madingley, author of The Glass Closet, chaired by GE Officer Ryan Zanin, Vice President & Chief Risk Officer -- GE Capital.
About three years from now, some 80 miles off the coast of Yorkshire, England, the world’s biggest wind farm is scheduled to begin operation. The facility, called Dogger Bank — which will be powered by GE Vernova’s Haliade-X 14-megawatt (MW) wind turbines — is expected to generate 3.6 gigawatts (GW) of electricity, an amount equivalent to that needed to power 6 million homes in the U.K.

The principal of Hughes Academy for Science and Technology, a middle school in Greenville, South Carolina, and his students want to transform the empty vessel into a zero-waste concession stand. With the support of local businesses, the repurposed shipping container will be open for business at Hughes athletic events. It will provide students with a real engineering experience that Finlay believes “can open up their world” and also sell some healthy snacks.

Sale, Manchester, 2014: "CO2 emissions limit" is the number one factor used when setting the criteria for a company car choice list, according to the latest quarterly Company Car Trends research from GE Capital, Fleet Services.
Along with "fitness for purpose" and "maximum monthly rental", these three criteria lead every other factor used by the fleets surveyed by a huge margin -- more than 50% of respondents named these top factors but all others polled less than 20%.
