GE日立ニュークリア・エナジー(GEH)は本日、同社の次世代原子炉である革新型単純化沸騰水型原子炉(ESBWR)の蒸気乾燥器の状態をより正確に評価できる新しい手法が米国原子力規制委員会(NRC)に承認されたと発表しました。この評価手法は、既設または計画中の沸騰水型原子炉(BWR)発電所向けに開発されたものです。

蒸気乾燥器は、原子炉の圧力容器の中にある炉心の上部に取り付けられ、蒸気から余分な湿分を取り除く重要な部品です。その後、蒸気は原子力発電所のタービン・発電機に送られ、そこで発電が行われます。
