Fairfield/MÜNCHEN, 19. Januar 2011 --- General Electric (GE) hat in China neue Aufträge und Joint-Ventures mit einem Gesamtvolumen von 2,1 Milliarden US-Dollar abgeschlossen. CEO und Chairman Jeffrey Immelt gab dies während des viertägigen Staatsbesuchs des chinesischen Präsidenten Hu Jintao in den USA bekannt. Insgesamt entstehen durch die neuen Projekte aus den Bereichen Schienenverkehr, Energie und Luftfahrt über 5.000 Arbeitsplätze -- vor allem in den USA, China und Großbritannien.

GEは本日、GE暦31年のマーク･ノーボンが、3月1日付で日本GE株式会社（本社：東京都港区）の代表取締役社長兼CEOに就任することを発表しました。現在同社の代表取締役社長兼CEOを務めている藤森義明は、同日付で代表取締役会長に就任します。
GE副会長で、GEグローバル･グロース&オペレーションのプレジデント兼CEOであるジョン･ライスは次のように述べています。「GEの中国におけるパートナーシップ確立、事業拡大という成功には、マーク･ノーボンのリーダーシップが不可欠でした。彼が持つ日本の知識とソリューション指向の顧客アプローチは、GEの重要なマーケットである日本に大きな貢献をもたらすでしょう。」
日本勤務の経験がある52歳のノーボンは、2008年からGEの中国代表を務めており、その17年間におよぶアジア勤務の経験には、日本GE社長兼CEOとしての4年間と、タイ、インドネシア、台湾におけるGEでの要職が含まれます。
ノーボンは、米国ペンシルベニア州立大学を卒業しています。
藤森義明は1986年GE入社、現在は日本GEの社長兼CEOで、GE本社のシニア･バイス･プレジデント、コーポレート･エグゼキュティブ･カウンシル（執行役員会議）のメンバーも務めています。
