2011年1月19日，上海 -- 通用电气（GE） 公司今天宣布任命夏智诚（Mark Hutchinson）为GE中国新任总裁兼首席执行官，他将直接向GE副董事长及GE全球增长市场及运营首席执行官约翰 *赖斯先生汇报。该任命将于2011年3月1日正式生效。
GE公司副董事长赖斯说："夏智诚是一位经验丰富的企业领导人，为GE公司在欧洲和亚洲相关业务发展作出了巨大的贡献。他熟知市场，了解客户需求，对构建并维护高质量领导团队具有丰富经验，他还十分注重基础设施业务和金融业务之间的互补。我相信夏智诚将帮助GE保持在中国的增长势头。"
夏智诚今年50岁，在GE已经工作了17年，自2005年来，一直常驻巴黎担任GE商业地产国际业务总裁，在此之前，他曾经负责GE部分资本市场业务，包括领导GE相关部门为印度尼西亚和中国的能源基建项目提供融资服务。夏智诚曾在澳大利亚、中国、法国、日本、英国以及美国工作和生活。
夏智诚生于英格兰，他毕业于澳大利亚布里斯班的昆士兰大学。
