New Goals for Sustainable Aviation Fuel
At the Global Clean Energy Action Forum last week, U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm called sustainable aviation fuel “the most important tool in our arsenal” to help decarbonize air travel. GE Aerospace fuels expert Gurhan Andac, also speaking at the forum, agreed and said that a ramp-up of SAF requires safety guardrails. Read more about GE’s efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in aviation.
85 Climate Projects in 90 Days
The challenge: Come up with an environmental project and commit to working on it weekly. Some 400 GE employees in 20 countries took up the task in the just-concluded 2022 GE Climate Action Challenge. Goal: Net Zero
This week in Montreal, the 193 member states of the International Civil Aviation Organization are gathering for the 41st ICAO General Assembly. Among other topics, they will be discussing ways to help decarbonize aviation. GE Aerospace supports the Air Transport Action Group’s goal to reach net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050, and a group of GE engineers joined other young industry professionals in this ATAG video to urge governments to act. Click the video link above and find out more about efforts to “Fly Net Zero” here.
