Flying High
Touted as the “most capable and durable combat engine ever deployed,” GE’s new jet engine, the XA100, passed its last big test in August at Tennessee’s Arnold Air Force Base. Innovating for Tomorrow
GE Research, in Niskayuna, New York, began life as the General Electric Research Laboratory in 1900, the first industrial research lab of its kind. Over the decades GE researchers have achieved breakthroughs from the tungsten-filament light bulb and nonreflective eyeglass lenses to arc welding and movies with sound. To continue its tradition of innovation, the company announced this week that GE Research will become three separate but co-located advanced research centers at its campuses in Niskayuna and Bangalore, India, to serve the three planned future companies — GE HealthCare, GE Vernova, and GE Aerospace.* Take a look here.
