Create an equipment aspect

Equipment aspects dynamically extend existing equipment instances or classes by adding new attributes and business logic without modifying or recompiling the original objects.

Procedure

  1. In the navigtor, click Workflow > Workflows.
  2. In the Workflows list, select the resource you want to work with.
    Note: A resource must already have been added in order to select it from this list.
  3. In the Displays panel, click Workflow Management > Workflow Editor.
  4. Click the Workflow Editor tab.
  5. Insert an activity:
    • At the workflow level:
      • From the Standard Activities panel, click and drag the actiity you want to insert to a drop point.
        Note: Acticities can exist only between the presubprocess and postsubprocess.
    • At the subprocess level:
      • Double-click the local subprocess you want to add the activity to.
      • From the Standard Activities panel, click and drag the activity you want to insert to a drop point.
  6. Double-click iEquipment to display the list of available call methods.
  7. Click AddAspect, and then click Finish.
    The iinput parameters appear in the activity configuration panel.
  8. Configure the call method as follows:
    1. In the Aspect Type Name field, enter the name of the aspect you want to add to the resource.
    2. In the Equipment Instance or Class field, click the ellipsis button, and then select an instance or class to add the aspect to.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Run the workflow, or, on the Test/Debug tab, test the workflow to ensure that your input parameters are configured correctly.
