SRS Projects

About SRS Project

Creation of an SRS Project allows the user to select one or many of the SRS templates. Once the user has made the selection of templates, a copy of the collection of templates will be made.

The user can link the SRS Project to zero or many of the following elements:

  • SIL Analysis
  • Logic Solver
  • Instrumented Function
  • Protective Loop

The linkage takes place in the context of a linkable item (for example, instrumented function) where the user can search and select an approved SRS Project.

What To Do Next

Access the List of Linked Records in an SRS Project

Procedure

  1. Access the SRS Project for which you want to view the list of linked records.

The SRS Project page appears, displaying the Project Summary workspace for the selected SRS Project. The following tabs appear in the workspace:

    • Definition: Contains the datasheet for the SRS Project. This tab is selected by default.
    • Instrumented Functions: Contains a list of Instrumented Functions that are associated with the SRS Project.
    • SIL Analysis: Contains a list of SIL Analyses that are associated with the SRS Project.
    • Protective Loop: Contains a list of Protective Loops that are associated with the SRS Project.
    • Logic Solvers: Contains a list of Logic Solvers that are associated with the SRS Project.

  2. Select the tab containing the records that you want to view.

The following image shows the SIL Analysis section, which contains the list of SIL Analyses that are associated with the SRS Project.

Change the State of an SRS Project

Procedure

  1. Access the SRS Project for which you want change the state.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the workspace, select the button that indicates the current state of the SRS Project. For example, if the current state of the project is In Progress, select In Progress.

A menu appears, displaying the list of operations that you can perform on the SRS Project to change its state.

  3. Select the necessary operation that will change the state of the project, and then select Done. For example, if you want to change the state of the analysis from Planning to Active, select Begin , and then select Done.
Note: You can view the states assigned to various users by selecting the Manage State Assignments link. If not already done, you can assign the next state to the appropriate user, and then select Done.

The state of the SRS Project is changed.

Results

  • Based on the state of the SRS Project, the datasheet is either enabled or disabled for modification:
    • If the state of the SRS Project is changed to Pending Review, the datasheet is disabled.
    • If the state of the SRS Project is changed to In Progress, the datasheet is enabled.
    • If the state of the SRS Project is changed to Pending Review, the datasheet is disabled.
    • If the state of the SRS Project is changed to Approved, the datasheet is disabled. At this stage, the revision number is incremented.

Change the SRS Template that is Defined for an SRS Category in an SRS Project

Procedure

  1. Access the SRS Project for which you want to change the template used in an SRS Category.
  2. In the left pane, select the SRS Category in which the SRS Template needs to be changed.

    The SRS Category page appears.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the workspace, select Change Template.

The Create new SRS category window appears, displaying a list of available SRS templates.

  4. Select the <SRS Template> radio button, and then select OK.

The new SRS template is added to the list of SRS categories displayed in the left pane of the <SRS Project> page.

Compare the Revision Records of an SRS Project

Procedure

  1. Access the revision history of the SRS Project.
  2. Select the revision record which you want to compare with the previous revision record.

The Revision History page displays the details of the selected revision record.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the workspace, select Show Changes.

The Changes For Selected Datasheet page appears, displaying the comparison details.

Download an SRS Project Report

Procedure
