GEおよびGEグループ各社は、被災者の方々の救援や被災地の復興に役立てていただくために、5百万ドル相当（約4億1000万円）の支援を行います。
支援内容は、義援金、発電・水・医療関係等の機器および運用保守サポートを予定しています。政府や被災地の自治体、医療機関、支援団体と連携をして、被災地のご要望に最大限お応えしていく所存です。支援活動は、今後数ヶ月にわたって実施する予定です。
本支援の資金提供を行うGEファンデーションは、既に全世界のGE社員に対してマッチングギフト（従業員による社会貢献目的の寄付に対して企業が同額の上乗せを行う寄付）を呼びかけています。GEの全社員一同、被災地の皆様の安全と一刻も早い復旧を心からお祈り申し上げます。

Portneuf, Quebec, 23 février 2011-- GE et le gouvernement du Canada ont annoncé aujourd'hui des investissements de $1.3 M chacun dans un projet de recherche avec Les Serres du St-Laurent (Savoura) et l'Université McGill. Le projet a pour but le développement de technologies innovatrices d'éclairage pour les serre commerciales à base de DEL afin d'améliorer les rendements tout en réduisant les coûts d'opération.
