GE日立ニュークリア・エナジー(GEH)は、本日、同社の改良型沸騰水型原子炉（ABWR）技術がGEのエコマジネーション製品に認定されたと発表しました。
エコマジネーションは、差し迫った運用・環境課題に直面するお客様を支援する新技術を積極的に市場にもたらすための、GEの全社的な取り組みです。
今日、電力消費者と電力会社により、運転経費の削減や、発電時に排出される温室効果ガスの削減を含む環境課題を解決する新たなエネルギー・ソリューションが求められています。エコマジネーション認定は、GEHの原子炉技術がこうした需要を満たすことを裏付けるものです。

Acquires majority stake in Indo Tech Transformers, Ltd
New Delhi, India -- May 20, 2009 -- Prolec GE International, S. DE R.L. DE C.V. (Prolec GE) announced the acquisition of a majority of stake of Indo Tech Transformers, LTD (Indo Tech) of Chennai, India, a company that specializes in power and distribution transformers, has been completed.
Staff from GE Aviation Systems were among a select number of men and women working in science and engineering recognised during a ceremony at the House of Lords for their work as STEM ambassdors -- people who inspire young people about the possibilities offered by a career in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Nearly 100 Gloucestershire Primary Schools recently met at GE Aviation's Bishops Cleeve site to compete for the title of "Best Team" in the County round of the K'Nex Challenge, part of the "Junior Engineer for Great Britain" competition. In all, 196 pupils, representing 98 schools, competed in pairs to decide the winning team that would represent the County in the South-West regional final in July and, if successful, attend the national final.

GE日立ニュークリア・エナジー(GEH)は、本日、インドのエンジニアリング・建設最大手であるラーセン＆トゥブロ(L&T)と、原子力発電所の開発で合意しました。
今回の合意は、現地サプライヤーと広範囲の供給網を確立し、将来GEHが設計した改良型沸騰水型原子炉(ABWR)の原子力発電所をインドで建設する際の支援体制を構築するというGEHの戦略の一環として、契約を結んだものです。インドでは、原子力発電能力を現在の4.1ギガワットから2030年までに10倍以上の60ギガワットに拡大する目標で、複数の原子力発電所の建設を計画しており、ABWRの発電所はその一つとなります。原子力発電拡大計画は、インドにおける電気需要の急増に対応するためのエネルギー基盤拡大計画の重要な要素をなすものです。
GEHの1,350メガワット型ABWR技術は、世界で唯一商業運転を行っている第3世代の先進原子炉設計を採用しています。1996年以来4基が運転を開始しており、そのほか4基が建設中です。
