随着中国经济发展步伐加快,作为能源主体的煤炭需求量大幅度提高,为解决煤炭运输紧张的问题,中国铁道部决定在大秦线开行2万吨重载组合列车, 2005年2月, GE运输系统系统凭借着成熟领先的重载技术及完善的服务与铁道部签订了一系列铁路相关技术订单，其中LOCOTROL系统为实现成功开行2万吨重载组合列车提供了进一步技术支持。

GEエナジーと三菱重工業は、ガスタービン・コンバインドサイクル（GTCC）発電設備向けの次世代蒸気タービンを共同で開発していくことで最終合意し、契約書に調印しました。具体的には、両社が保有する技術・ノウハウを結集して、最新鋭の高性能次世代機を開発・設計します。製作・販売については、他のGTCC発電製品と同様、それぞれ個別に手掛けます。
今回の正式契約は、次世代蒸気タービンの共同開発検討に係る本年1月の覚書（MOU）交換を受け合意に至ったものです。両社は今後、信頼性の高い高効率機の円滑な開発・投入を目指していきます。
新たな蒸気タービンは、全世界の50Hz地域において、三菱重工のG形およびGEのFB型ガスタービンを用いた、発電出力85万~100万kWのGTCC発電設備に適用されることとなります。
RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA -- June 22, 2009 -- Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) announced that it signed a 12-year direct loan agreement for SR4.1 billion ($1.1 billion) to finance the supply and installation of GE equipment for expanding the Qurayyah and Faras power plants in the Eastern Province and Power Plant No. 8 in Riyadh, which will add 2,900 megawatts of power generation capacity. The direct loan will be disbursed and managed through the funding bank, Calyon New York.

LE BOURGET---June 17, 2009---Air Nostrum has ordered 35 CF34-8C5A1 powered Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft. The engine order is valued at more than $350 million (USD) list price. Delivery will begin in 2010.

CALGARY, Alberta - WestJet today announced it has signed an exclusive 12-year OnPoint* solution agreement valued at more than $850 million (USD) over the life of the contract with GE Aviation for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its fleet of CFM56-7+ engines that power 79 Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.
As part of the agreement, maintenance, repair and overhaul of WestJet's engines will be performed at the StandardAero plant in Winnipeg, which has just undergone a major expansion, resulting in additional employment for Manitobans.
