Dubai, November 20, 2005: General Electric Company is playing a large role in the construction of Emirates Airlines' jet engine test facility in Dubai.
Emirates Airlines, one of the world's fastest growing airlines, began construction on the facility in June, with completion scheduled for January 2007. The facility was designed in co-operation with GE with a capability unique to the Middle East region.
Paris, June 15, 2005: ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company K.S.C.C. (Kuwait-based shareholding closed company) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the purchase of 12 firm, six option Airbus A350 aircraft powered by General Electric Company's Genx engine.
The GEnx engines for the firm 12 A350s are valued at more than $300 million. Under the terms of the agreement, delivery of the aircraft, a combination of A350-800 and A350-900 models, is scheduled to begin in 2012.
(2005년 6월 14일, 프랑스 르브르제)- 대한항공은 자사의 신형 에어버스 슈퍼점보 항공기인 A380의 엔진으로 Engine Alliance(EA)사의 GP7200엔진을 선정했다. 대한항공은 5대의 확정 계약분 A380에 대한 23개의 엔진과 3대의 추가옵션 분에 대한 13개의 엔진을 발주하였다. 확정 물량은 약 3억불, 만약 추가옵션을 실행시 1억 7천만불이 추가되는 규모다. 금번 수주로 EA는 A380 기종의 엔진 수주율이 58퍼센트로 올랐으며 총 확정계약 엔진은 320개로 41억불 규모다 . Engine Alliance는 GE운송사업부문(GE Transportation)의 항공기 엔진사업부(Aircraft Engines) 와 Pratt & Whiteny사가 50:50의 공동투자하여 신규 개발되는 고용량 장거리항공기에 맞는 최신기술의 엔진을 지원하기 위해 1996년 8월에 설립되었다. 자세한 내용은 www.enginealliance.com.
대한민국 공군 T- 50 고등제트훈련기 장착용 F404-GE-102 엔진 공급 계약
GE의 항공기 엔진 사업부와 삼성테크윈은 한국 고유의 기종인 T-50 고등 제트 훈련기(advanced jet trainer/fighter lead-in trainer)에 장착될 F404-GE-102 엔진 생산 계약을 체결했다. 계약 규모는 8천만불. 계약에는 27개의 F404-GE-102엔진 생산은 물론, 군수지원도 포함된다.
'- 102'는 성공적인 F404-GE-402 고성능 엔진( Enhanced Performance Engine)에서 파생된 엔진이다. '-102'는 '-402'가 보유한 개선된 연료 효율성과 터빈과 재연소 분야의 향상된 기술과 재질을 모두 가지고 있다. 또한 '-102'는 F404 시리즈 엔진의 특성인 탁월한 조종력과 내구력을 잘 보여준다. F404-GE-102 엔진은 이미 3,700개 이상의 생산실적을 보유하고 있기 때문에 많은 이점이 있다.
Dubai, December 8, 2003: -- Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, has selected the GE-P&W Engine Alliance GP7200 engine to power the airline's follow-on order for 23 Airbus A380 aircraft.
The contract award calls for the GE-PW Engine Alliance to supply 92 installed and 9 spare GP7200 engines to power a fleet of 21 A380s purchased by Emirates, as well as two A380 aircraft leased from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). The delivery of these A380 aircraft, which will be configured for 550 passengers, begins in 2009.
Dubai, December 8, 2003: -- To expand the engine repair and technical support capabilities for one of the world's award-winning and fastest growing airlines, GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) and Emirates have reached an agreement for GEAE to design and construct an advanced jet engine test facility for Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline.
The commitment reflects GEAE's growing cooperation with Emirates and Dubai.

GE's advanced engine technology on exhibit includes the world's most powerful jet engine, the GE90-115B.
Kuwait, October 4, 2003: -- GE Aircraft Engines will provide Kuwait Airways with an advanced engine upgrade kit to enhance performance of its GE90 engines in service on Boeing 777's. In an agreement valued at US$11 million, GE will increase the performance of five of the carrier's GE90-90B engines, enabling non-stop flights from Kuwait City to New York.
