2009年3月25日------GE石油天然气集团最近再次中标世界最大的天然气输送工程，GE公司将成为中国第二条西气东输管道西段工程的压缩机设备主要供应商，中标价值约3亿美元。自2005年以来多次中标后，GE公司被中国石油天然气股份有限公司授标的总金额超过了6亿美元。
西气东输二线将成为中国国家整体管网的是中国不断发展的天然气管道基础设施的一部分，整个管网将在今后在未来5-6年中将完工建成，届时西气东输管道的全总长约为20,000公里。西气东输二线主干线全长为8,700公里。这一纪念碑似里程碑式的管道线项目将迂回通过贯穿全国13个省和自治区，在支持保证国家能源安全和经济发展方面中将发挥重要的作用。现有的中国现有的天然气管线总长约为30,000公里。
这是GE公司在过去几年中第三次中标支持中国大型管网建设方面项目。此前，GE公司曾为西气东输一线增输工程，以及西气东输二线包括先导站的两个压气站项目提供过增压设备。
除了西气东输管道项目以外，GE油气集团公司还成为了是中国石油化工股份有限公司川气东送管线项目的设备供应商。该项目将天然气从四川省的普光油田输送至上海。这一项目。
Deal Worth $300 Million Uses Turbine Technology Developed by GE Aviation
FLORENCE, Italy--25 March 2009-- GE Oil & Gas technology has again been selected for one of the largest gas transmission projects in the world. GE will be the primary supplier of compression equipment for the western section of China's second West-to-East Gas Pipeline. Since 2005, GE has been awarded bids by PetroChina worth over $600 million.
