2011年5月11日,北京-到今年年底之前,GE旗下的专业飞机租赁公司,GE金融航空服务有限公司(GECAS)将向中国民航业承租客户交付20架新飞机，这一系列的进展将进一步加强GECAS在中国航空租赁市场的领先地位，该公司对中国市场的投资目前已累积达到70亿美元。
在该消息宣布的同时，GECAS大中华区负责人刘莉在5月11-12日举行的中国民航发展论坛上以"促进民航业发展方式的转变"为题发表了主旨演讲。一年一度的中国民航论坛由中国民用航空局发起，中国民航管理干部学院承办，是讨论国内民航业未来发展趋势的重要平台。
按计划GECAS 年内将交付给中国航空公司客户的新飞机包括11架波音737，2架波音777F和7架A320，GECAS在中国的飞机租赁业务量将因此提高10%。今年到目前为止，GECAS已经向中国东方航空，山东航空，春秋航空和厦门航空等客户交付了数架新飞机。
