GE 超微型开关技术展示高性能, 满足新一代4g移动设备的要求

样品测试显示,GE的射频微电子系统(RF MEMS)能够加快数据传输速度,提升信号质量,延长电池使用寿命。

2014年5月6日,美国Niskayuna------GE全球研发中心科学家进一步推进了微电子机械系统(MEMS)技术,开发出新一代超微型开关,将对系统设计带来重大影响,从而将会推动未来移动设备的发展。

这类金属开关的大小甚至不及一根头发丝的宽度,能够控制一系列电气系统的电流,从应用千瓦级功率的设备到普通灯泡。这一技术的未来应用意义深远,开关的使用范围很广,从手持电子设备、工业设备到防护设备。GE的MEMS开关与其他MEMS技术的不同之处在于GE研究员研制的独特材料组合,使得开关能够在极端运行条件下,比如高温,运行数十亿次 ,同时但能够保持极低的接触电阻。

在显微镜下观测,置于一枚美国一角硬币上的晶元包含400个MEMS开关。此器件由GE金属MEMS技术制成,能在这么微小的系统结构上,可控制多达1千瓦的能量。若需在移动设备上应用,此项技术可按比例缩小并微型化处理。
