Emirates Airlines Orders US$2.5 Billion in GE90 Engines and OnPoint Solution Services from GE

November 23, 2005

Dubai, 23 November, 2005:Emirates Airlines has ordered 42 extended-range Boeing 777 aircraft, all powered by GE90 engines, with purchase right for 20 additional aircrafts.

These GE90-115B engines will be covered by a 12-year, OnPointSM Solution service agreement with GE for maintenance and overhaul.

The combined value of the GE90 engine purchase and OnPoint Solution agreement for GE is more than US$2.5 billion.

Assembly Begins on the First GEnx Test Engine

November 21, 2005

DUBAI -- November 21, 2005 : Assembly of engine subasssembly for the first full-scale GEnx test engine is underway. The GEnx engine is being developed for the Boeing 787 and 747 Advanced aircraft and the Airbus A350 aircraft.

"We are currently assembling components for this first engine to test," says Tom Brisken, general manager of the GEnx program. "Testing is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2006, with engine certification planned for mid-2007 and entry into service on the Boeing 787 scheduled for 2008."

GE Assists Emirates in Construction of New Jet Engine Test Facility

Dubai, November 20, 2005: General Electric Company is playing a large role in the construction of Emirates Airlines' jet engine test facility in Dubai.

Emirates Airlines, one of the world's fastest growing airlines, began construction on the facility in June, with completion scheduled for January 2007. The facility was designed in co-operation with GE with a capability unique to the Middle East region.

Qatar Airways signs MoU for US$1.6 billion GEnx engine order for its new A350 fleet

Dubai, UAE, September 26, 2005 - Qatar Airways recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with General Electric Company for the GEnx engine to power the airline's new fleet 60 Airbus A350 aircraft.

The GEnx order from Qatar Airways is valued at more than US$1.6 billion, and represents the largest single order for GE's newest engine under development.
