Project is technological, industrial milestone for Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, UAE; July 30 , 2008: GE Energy has received a contract of more than US$500 million (AED 1.837 billion) to supply equipment to power the world's largest aluminum processing complex at a single site. The Emirates Aluminum (EMAL) production facility is located close to the Arabian Gulf near Al Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Lorenzo Simonelli to lead GE Transportation
FAIRFIELD, Conn.---July 17, 2008-- General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt announced today the appointment of John Dineen as president and CEO of GE Healthcare, a $17 billion global leader in medical diagnostic technology and biosciences. Immelt also announced that Lorenzo Simonelli will succeed Dineen as president and CEO of GE Transportation.

FARNBOROUGH, England --- July 14, 2008 --- Saudi Arabian Airlines today announced that it has again selected the CFM56-5B engine to power 22 new Airbus A320 family aircraft. The order is valued at approximately $300 million at list price. This is in addition to previously selecting 20 leased Airbus A320s, also powered by CFM56-5B engines The airline will begin taking delivery of new aircraft in 2009.

FARNBOROUGH, England --- July 14, 2008 --- The Dubai government's new low-cost carrier, FlyDubai, has ordered 50 CFM56-7B-powered Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft. The engine order is valued at nearly $700 million U.S. at list price. The airline will begin taking delivery in 2009 and is scheduled to have all 50 aircraft operating by 2016.
The CFM56-7B is a product of CFM International (CFM), a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (SAFRAN Group) and General Electric Company.
