Paris Air Show Preview

Vive l’Avion!
Next Monday will see the return of the Paris Air Show after a four-year hiatus. The world’s oldest and biggest air show draws crowds of more than 300,000, from airframers to airlines to all-around aviation lovers, and GE Aerospace will be there in full force. More sustainable flight is a subject that will be on everyone’s minds, so to get the conversation started, GE Aerospace commissioned a survey of 325 global aviation decision makers to take their pulse on where the industry stands on its path toward net zero. The intriguing results can be found here.

From Cockpit to YouTube Star
OK, maybe it’s not as big as Baby Shark Dance, but Petter Hörnfeldt’s aviation-themed YouTube channel Mentour Pilot is a social media sensation among fellow pilots and av geeks. Since January, his 17-minute video “Revolutionizing Flight! The Amazing Potential of the CFM RISE Engine” has alone drawn 3 million views. Read more here.

A Four-Generation GE Legacy
Members of the Varble family have been working at GE, or “Generous Electric” as they call it, since the 1950s, spanning four generations. And newest member Kyle Varble, a supplier readiness leader at GE Aerospace, continues to turn back to his family — and his dad in particular — when he needs advice.  — Quote of the Day —
“[The survey] results show that the aviation industry is focused on the goal of achieving net zero CO2 emissions by 2050, while also recognizing the need to accelerate efforts and ensure all key stakeholders are on the playing field.”
