GE was less than 10 years old when it helped build a hydroelectric dam in India — the first in all of Asia. That was 1902, and now, 120 years later, more than 19,000 people are part of the GE India family, working in aerospace, healthcare, and power generation. Electrifying Flight
GE has long focused on finding ways to help decarbonize flight. In the latest initiative, GE Aerospace’s Avio Aero business will lead a European project to test hybrid electric engines that use hydrogen fuel cells to supplement a traditional turbine engine. Read more here.

GE’s LM6000 aeroderivative gas turbine is a stalwart in keeping the grid running in several African nations. In November, at the COP27 climate conference in Egypt, one of the turbines achieved a milestone when it burned a blend of natural gas and hydrogen for the first time on the continent.
