The OPCUA Collector for the Linux operating system is delivered as a self-extracting archive file with a .bsx extension.

Only a root user or a user with sudo permission can perform the installation. If you are a sudo user, you must run the sudo./ <.bsx file name> command to launch the installation.

The OPCUA Collector binary depends on boost libraries. If boost libraries are not present in your system, the installer will give a warning message about the missing libraries. You need to download and install the required libraries on your Linux machine.

To install the collector, run the following commands:

  1. chmod+x <.bsx file name>
This command grants execute permission to the file.
  2. /<.bsx file name> This begins the installation.
  3. During installation you will be asked to configure OPCUA Collector settings.
    Provide the following information:

    • OPCUA Server URI: The OPCUA servers URI to which the client is connecting. The OPCUA Server URI is provided by the OPCUA server vendors.
