SHANNON, Ireland, May 28, 2014 -- GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing arm of GE, today announced it will lease two new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Kenya Airways to expand the carrier's fleet. The aircraft come from GECAS' existing order book with Boeing and are scheduled for delivery in early 2015.
Kenya Airways currently operates more than 40 aircraft to more than 50 destinations.

At the request of the French government, we have agreed, in consultation with Alstom, to extend the deadline for consideration by the Alstom board of our proposal until June 23. We have done so to facilitate ongoing discussions with the government. The industrial project we have presented is good for Alstom, for France and for GE, and our discussions have continued to be constructive. We view this extension positively.

Indonesia's Trigana Air will use the aircraft to expand its fleet. Trigana Air currently operates a fleet of nearly 20 passenger and freighter aircraft to more than 20 destinations in Indonesia.

ANA Cargo will use the wide-body freighter to expand its cargo operations. ANA Cargo's fleet of seven Boeing 767-300ERF and three Boeing 767-300F freighters operate on 18 international and six domestic routes.
