2014年4月15日，上海------今天，GE 中国研发中心领取了知名科普杂志《环球科学》颁发的"2013年度最具影响力十大研发中心"奖杯。这是对GE中国研发中心近14年"在中国为中国"科研努力的高度认可。
《环球科学》认为，作为多元化工业研究机构的代表，GE中国研发中心在上海的实验室超过60个，其中有超过2万平方米的国际一流实验室，拥有各种世界前沿的大型研究设备，是国内极少数具有基础科学研究能力的企业研发中心之一，在医疗设备、污水处理、燃机能效、燃料电池、LED照明等多个领域取得了多项重要成果。
作为GE全球五大研发中心之一，GE中国研发中心为GE在中国乃至全球的所有业务提供创新技术。中心坐落于上海张江高科技园区，是国内最大的独立外资研发机构之一。截至2013年底，GE在中国的研发人员共申请了1100多项专利。
