次世代航空機エンジン部材向け素材の需要拡大に対応
2012年2月27日（東京）‐ 炭素事業大手の日本カーボン株式会社（本社：東京都中央区八丁堀2-6-1、社長：田島 茂雄）と、世界的な航空機エンジンメーカーであるアメリカのGE（ゼネラル・エレクトリック）社（本社：米国コネチカット州フェアフィールド、会長兼CEO：ジェフリー・R・イメルト）及び同じく世界的な航空機エンジンメーカーであるフランスのサフラン社（本社：フランス パリ、会長：ジャンポール・エルトマン）は、本日、今後需要の拡大が予想される次世代航空機エンジンの主要部材に使われる素材である炭化ケイ素連続繊維（ニカロン®）の製造・販売を行なう合弁会社を設立することに合意しました。
