GEとアスクレピオス病院グループは本日、ドイツのヘルスケア業界における環境課題の解決に向けた総合的な取り組みとして、両社にとって初めての共同プロジェクトを立ち上げる契約に合意しました。「グリーン・ホスピタル」プロジェクトとして知られる今回の取り組みは、アスクレピオスが所有・運営する施設のひとつであるドイツ・ハンブルク市の病院をヨーロッパ初のパイロット施設とし、エコロジー（環境）の視点に立った改築や拡張の計画立案、設計を病院全体に展開していきます。
ハンブルグ市のアスクレピオス病院は、特にこの「グリーン・ホスピタル」プロジェクトに適しています。エネルギー効率の視点から、既存建物の改装、設備新設を行い、プロジェクトの完了は2013年を予定しています。

中国 北京－2009年6月21日 经卫生部批准，由中国老年保健医学研究会和中国医药卫生事业发展基金会主办、GE医疗集团协办的"脑中风筛查及防控工程"今日在卫生部正式启动。该项目旨在推动中国脑中风防控体系的建立和发展，有效遏制脑中风的发病和死亡，改善人民群众的健康状况和生活质量。
脑中风（专业术语"卒中"）是一种急性脑血管病，具有发病率高、致残率高和死亡率高的特点。我国居民第三次死因调查结果显示，脑血管病已成为国民第一位的死因，死亡率高于欧美国家4-5倍，是日本的3.5倍，甚至高于泰国、印度等发展中国家。根据北京安贞医院20年脑卒中病例资料分析，致死性中风仅占27%，大部分卒中病人存活且遗留偏瘫、失语等严重影响生活质量的残疾。目前，我国每年用于治疗脑血管病的费用估计约120多亿元，再加上各种间接经济损失，每年因本病的总支出近200亿元。
