新奥集团是中国领先的天然气供应商。 GE为其试点工程提供了两台1兆瓦瓦克夏 APG1000发电机组，服务于位于广东省东莞市的一个工业备用电能示范项目。
中国政府在每年夏季用电高峰时会采取错峰停电措施。移动电源的倡议旨在确保当地工厂有可靠的备用电能应对错峰停电可能带来的供电中断。 广东新奥能源控股有限公司有意向其合作企业出租发电设备。
