KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA---October 23, 2008---Japan's most powerful wood gas-to-energy power plant, powered by two of GE Energy's Jenbacher gas engines, has won the Gold Award for the Best Renewable Energy Power Plant of the Year, conferred by Asian Power magazine. The innovative project generates power from an abundant, renewable biomass resource that would otherwise be treated as rubbish, demonstrating opportunities for future waste-to-energy initiatives in Japan.

Pacific Gas and Electric Plans to Deploy up to 3.3 Million GE Meters Equipped with SmartMeter™ Technology by 2011

ATLANTA, GA.---October 22, 2008---Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) of California plans to deploy as many as 3.3 million GE meters equipped with SmartMeter™ technology to utility customers in northern and central California. These meters will help customers manage their energy consumption and costs, while helping the utility improve customer service. Overall, PG&E plans to deploy 10.3 million SmartMeter gas and electric meters by the end of 2011 to virtually all of its customers.

中国，杭州 --- 2008年10月16日 ------ 一条全新的燃气内燃机组装线在位于杭州市的GE能源集团生产中心正式投入运营。作为GE能源集团中国本土化战略举措及其一贯提倡的"绿色创想"理念的延伸，GE能源集团杭州颜巴赫工厂不仅能满足亚洲市场对具有良好燃料适应性的颜巴赫燃气内燃机组日益增长的需求，为中国新能源建设提供先进示范，也将为亚洲特别是中国市场提供更快捷和满足个性化需求的特殊定制服务。同时，它还将是该地区客户的备品备件库，从而进一步提高GE颜巴赫在亚洲的备件及服务能力。

杭州颜巴赫组装线目前拥有50多名技术人员，大多经过在奥地利总部进行为期数月的专业生产技能培训和定期实践指导。该厂负责机器底座罩壳等焊接件、管路系统、 电缆接线及整个系统的组装工作。 2008年计划生产50台燃气内燃机，2009年计划完成150台。在运营初期，这条生产线将首先组装功率为1兆瓦的颜巴赫3型燃气内燃机，不久将扩展至颜巴赫全线产品。这条新组装线同时装备有先进的测试系统。 每台产品出厂前都经过严格检测，以确保全部机组的最佳运行性能。

VEST-ENERGO S.A. will install a 14-MW cogeneration gas engine plant in order to modernize its district heating facilities in Bucharest, Romania to help the country meet energy efficiency standards set by the European Union. The project will be powered by four of GE's most powerful Jenbacher "Type 6" gas engines. Two of the engines are GE's new J624 GS units that are the world's first commercial 24-cylinder gas engines.
