(MHI) have signed final agreements to co-develop a "next generation" steam turbine for use in gas turbine combined-cycle power plants. The co-development effort will focus on the design of a new, advanced steam turbine, leaving each of the parties to separately manufacture and sell the co-developed steam turbine in support of its natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power generation products.

【ニューヨーク、スケネクタディ、2009年6月23日】
GEエナジーと三菱重工業は、ガスタービン・コンバインドサイクル(GTCC)発電設備向けの次世代蒸気タービンを共同で開発していくことで最終合意し、契約書に調印しました。具体的には、両社が保有する技術・ノウハウを結集して、最新鋭の高性能次世代機を開発・設計します。製作・販売については、他のGTCC発電製品と同様、それぞれ個別に手掛けます。

今回の正式契約は、次世代蒸気タービンの共同開発検討に係る本年1月の覚書(MOU)交換を受け合意に至ったものです。両社は今後、信頼性の高い高効率機の円滑な開発・投入を目指していきます。

新たな蒸気タービンは、全世界の50Hz地域において、三菱重工のG形およびGEのFB型ガスタービンを用いた、発電出力85万~100万kWのGTCC発電設備に適用されることとなります。
