Third-Generation Technology Would Increase Production of Enriched Fuel for U.S. Nuclear Power Plants

HOUSTON--25 June 2009-- GE Oil & Gas, a world leading company in oil and gas advanced technology equipment and services, has been awarded a contract worth more than $70 million by StatoilHydro to upgrade a suite of subsea control systems for StatoilHydro's Tordis Vigdis Controls Modification (TVCM) project. The solution will incorporate GE's award-winning next-generation subsea electronics module---the VetcoGray SemStar5.
Second Contract Secured by GE under a Frame Agreement Signed in December 2008
RIO DE JANEIRO--24 June 2009-- GE Oil & Gas, a world leading company in oil and gas advanced technology equipment and services, today announced that it has been awarded a contract of more than $11 million to supply four VetcoGray subsea wellhead systems and running tool rentals to OGX Petroleo e Gas Ltda., the largest independent oil company in Brazil.
ATLANTA--24 June 2009-- Marking a significant step forward in the use of cleaner coal technology to help meet the country's future energy requirements, the first major pieces of equipment have arrived at Duke Energy's Integrated Gasification Combined-Cycle (IGCC) plant in Edwardsport, Ind. Using GE IGCC technology, the plant is expected to be the largest cleaner coal IGCC facility of its type in the world when it is complete.
BELFORT, France--23 June 2009-- GE Energy today opened a new Technology Center in Belfort, the company's European headquarters for the past 10 years and its international center of excellence for the manufacturing of medium-sized gas turbines. The new Technology Center will house up to 400 engineers from 15 different countries, who will work to develop the most advanced technology to help customers address environmental and energy challenges.
Technology to Help Meet Increasing Efficiency and Performance Requirements
SCHENECTADY, N.Y.--23 June 2009-- GE Energy and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) have signed final agreements to co-develop a "next generation" steam turbine for use in gas turbine combined-cycle power plants. The co-development effort will focus on the design of a new, advanced steam turbine, leaving each of the parties to separately manufacture and sell the co-developed steam turbine in support of its natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power generation products.

GEエナジーと三菱重工業は、ガスタービン・コンバインドサイクル（GTCC）発電設備向けの次世代蒸気タービンを共同で開発していくことで最終合意し、契約書に調印しました。具体的には、両社が保有する技術・ノウハウを結集して、最新鋭の高性能次世代機を開発・設計します。製作・販売については、他のGTCC発電製品と同様、それぞれ個別に手掛けます。
今回の正式契約は、次世代蒸気タービンの共同開発検討に係る本年1月の覚書（MOU）交換を受け合意に至ったものです。両社は今後、信頼性の高い高効率機の円滑な開発・投入を目指していきます。
新たな蒸気タービンは、全世界の50Hz地域において、三菱重工のG形およびGEのFB型ガスタービンを用いた、発電出力85万~100万kWのGTCC発電設備に適用されることとなります。
