LOT Polish Airlines, GE Celebrate 500,000 Flight Hours on CF6-80C2 Fleet

May 14, 2004 -- WARSAW, Poland -- LOT Polish Airlines and GE celebrated the achievement of 500,000 flight hours by the airlines fleet of CF6-80C2-powered Boeing 767 aircraft.
In 1989, LOT became GE's first Eastern European customer when it took delivery of its first CF6-80C2-powered Boeing 767 extended range aircraft. Today, Poland's national carrier operates five aircraft, including two 767-200ERs and three 767-300ERs on routes to the U.S.

ATLANTA & SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2004--GE Energy, a division of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) and ChevronTexaco Worldwide Gasification Technology Inc., a subsidiary of ChevronTexaco Corporation (NYSE: CVX), today announced plans for GE Energy to acquire ChevronTexaco's gasification technology business.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including government approvals. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

The engines will be placed into propulsion modules by IHI to power the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force's (JMSDF) 15DDG AEGIS destroyer. The destroyer will be built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.'s Nagasaki, Japan shipyard.

GE Forecasts Long-term Growth in the Small Commercial Jet Segment

April 29, 2004 -- ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI -- General Electric Co. (GE) forecasts the number of small commercial jets in service will more than triple in the next 20 years, increasing from 2,000 aircraft in 2004 to 6,800 aircraft in 2023.
GE expects its CF34 engine order book to reach 400 this year. Engine deliveries will top 400 this year, marking the third consecutive year of more than 400 engines delivered to customers.
