ATLANTA & SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2004--GE Energy, a division of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) and ChevronTexaco Worldwide Gasification Technology Inc., a subsidiary of ChevronTexaco Corporation (NYSE: CVX), today announced plans for GE Energy to acquire ChevronTexaco's gasification technology business.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including government approvals. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
May 06, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- GE Marine will supply Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries, Co., Ltd. (IHI), Tokyo, Japan with four LM2500 gas turbines. The engines will be placed into propulsion modules by IHI to power the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force's (JMSDF) 15DDG AEGIS destroyer. The destroyer will be built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.'s Nagasaki, Japan shipyard.

JENBACH, Austria--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 2004--GE Jenbacher, a division of GE Energy, has received a multi-million dollar contract to provide 22 complete gas engine cogeneration systems for a Ukrainian coal mine gas-to-energy project. Each system will include the cooling system, silencer, control system and heat recovery unit.
Upon completion, the project will be the largest of its kind in the world in terms of total power output.

April 28, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has selected the General Electric CF6-80E1 engine to power its six Airbus A330-200 aircraft on order. Delivery of these new aircraft will begin in the summer of 2005.
Additionally, KLM's Engineering and Maintenance division will become a CF6-80E1 Overhaul Center of Excellence, expanding its CF6 maintenance and overhaul capability for KLM's own fleet and for other customers.
