April 28, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has selected the General Electric CF6-80E1 engine to power its six Airbus A330-200 aircraft on order. Delivery of these new aircraft will begin in the summer of 2005.
Additionally, KLM's Engineering and Maintenance division will become a CF6-80E1 Overhaul Center of Excellence, expanding its CF6 maintenance and overhaul capability for KLM's own fleet and for other customers.

April 22, 2004 -- LYNN, MASSACHUSETTS -- The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted Type Certification to new models of GE's CT7-8 turboshaft engine. The newly certified engines, more powerful and more durable than earlier models, are intended to power variants of the Sikorsky S-92, AgustaWestland EH101 and US101, and NH Industries NH90 helicopters, as well as improved versions of the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for U.S. Army Special Operations forces.

April 20, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- The Australian Defense Forces has ordered five EADS/Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft powered by General Electric Co. (GE) jet engines for the Royal Australian Air Force. The engine order is valued at more than $100 million USD.
GE's CF6-80E1 engine will power these A330 MRTT, which will be introduced into military service in Australia beginning in 2007. Engine deliveries will begin in 2006.

April 15, 2004 -- TAIPEI, Taiwan - EVA Airways of Taiwan today announced the purchase of eight GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777 aircraft, including both the 777-300ER and 777-200LR models. The new engine order, which is a follow-on to a 2000 order for seven GE-powered 777s, is valued at approximately $350 million. The airline will begin taking delivery in 2005.

April 06, 2004 -- East Hartford, CT -- The GE-P&W Engine Alliance's GP7200 engine has produced more than the 76,500 pounds of thrust required for entry into service on the Airbus A380 aircraft during its initial testing. The engine reached 80,000 pounds of thrust at Pratt & Whitney's test facility in East Hartford, CT. In addition, the mechanical break-in cycle of the engine testing was complete, and mechanical stress levels were satisfactory.
