F110-GE-132 Engine Completes Initial Flight Tests

June 16, 2003

June 16, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio--Flight testing of the F110-GE-132 engine, the highest-thrust engine for the Lockheed Martin F-16 multirole fighter, has begun at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Plans call for the engine, powering an F-16 Block 30 aircraft modified for flight testing, to complete a 25-flight, four-month initiative that is designed to provide full compatibility with the airframe and explore all parameters of the envelope under various flight conditions.

June 16, 2003 -- LE BOURGET - June 16, 2003 - The GE90-115B, the world's most powerful jet engine, is poised to undergo the most aggressive maturation test program ever devised by GE Aircraft Engines for a commercial engine entering passenger service.
Engine certification testing for the GE90-115B is nearing completion, and the engine is powering Boeing's new 777-300ER in a 1,600-hour flight-test program. Boeing expects to achieve U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and European Joint Aviation Authorities certification for this engine/aircraft combination in early 2004.

GE CF34 Engine Order Book Growing In Tough Airline Environment

June 14, 2003 -- PARIS - June 14, 2003 -- GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) expects to increase its CF34 engine order book by more than 450 engines in 2003, based on the growth of regional jet aircraft.
In addition, GEAE forecasts CF34 engine deliveries will exceed 500 in 2003, with more than 450 engines anticipated for delivery in 2004.

JetBlue CF34 Engine Order Valued at $600 Million

June 10, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - JetBlue Airways today announced an order for 100 CF34-10E-powered EMBRAER 190 aircraft, with options for an additional 100 aircraft. The engine portion of the firm order is valued at more than $600 million.
JetBlue, the New York-based low cost carrier, will take delivery of the aircraft over a six-year period, beginning in 2005 and extending through 2011. The three-year-old airline, which focuses on providing high quality service at low fares, has been profitable since its first full year of service.

GE Wins $850 Million Engine Order To Power US Airways Regional Jets

May 12, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - US Airways Group Inc. has ordered jet engines from GE Aircraft Engines (GE) to power 170 new regional jet aircraft.
The engine order to GE, for 340 CF34 regional jet engines, is valued at more than $850 million. It becomes this year's single largest commercial jet engine order.
US Airways has ordered 60 Bombardier Inc. CRJ200 aircraft, powered by CF34-3B1 engines; 25 Bombardier CRJ705s, powered by CF34-8C5 engines, and 85 EMBRAER 170 airliners, powered by CF34-8E engines.

World's Most Powerful Engine Completes Flights On Special Test Aircraft

May 1, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - GE Aircraft Engines' GE90-115B, the world's most powerful jet engine, has completed a highly successful flight test program on GE's 747 Flying Testbed based at Mojave, California.
Meanwhile, the GE90-115B engine continues to power Boeing's new 777-300ER as part of the company's 1,600-hour flight-test program which began in February. Boeing is expected to achieve U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and European Joint Aviation Authorities certification for this engine/aircraft combination in early 2004.
