GE Aircraft Engines Completes Qualification Testing on F110-GE-132

October 27, 2003

October 27, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) has formally completed all qualification testing of its higher-thrust F110 fighter engine, the F110-GE-132, for the Lockheed Martin Block 60 F-16E/F aircraft.
The U.S. Air Force (USAF) concurred with GEAE's recommendation that the F110-GE-132 engine has concluded all engine qualification activities, clearing the way for the engine to enter operational service on the Block 60 F-16 aircraft.

October 22, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- The GE90 engine family has surpassed 4 million flight hours powering Boeing's 777 twin-engine aircraft in passenger service.
The original GE90-85B engine model, certified at 85,000 pounds of thrust, entered service in November 1995 with British Airways.

SkyWest Airlines Orders 30 GE-powered CRJ Regional Jets

September 15, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- SkyWest Airlines has placed a firm order for 30 of the 70-seat Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets, powered by GE's CF34-8 engines. SkyWest also took options for an additional 80 CRJ700 jets.
The value of the firm engine order to GE Aircraft Engines is valued at more than $120 million.
Deliveries of the firm aircraft are scheduled to begin in early 2004 and continue through 2005.

ILFC Picks GP7000 for A380s

September 4, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) has selected engines from the GE-P&W Engine Alliance for up to 14 new Airbus A380 aircraft.
The engine agreement, covering four firm and ten option A380s, is valued at $200 million for the firm aircraft and a total of $800 million if all options are exercised. This is the first firm engine order ILFC has placed for its A380 fleet.

JAL Group Selects GE Engines to Power New Aircraft

September 1, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- JAL Group (JAL) has selected GE Aircraft Engines' CF6-80C2 engine to power its seven new Boeing 767-300ER aircraft to be introduced under an operating lease. The deal is valued at more than $120 million. The 14 engines will be delivered over a three-year period, starting in 2004.
"JAL has one of the largest CF6-80C2 fleet in the world," says Kenji Uenishi, General Manager, Sales-Japan, GE Aircraft Engines. "This selection reinforces the airline's confidence in the reliability of the CF6 engines."

AirTran Airways Signs Long-Term Maintenance Contract with GE Engine Services

August 26, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- AirTran Airways (NYSE: AAI) has signed a 15-year, $600 million agreement with GE Engine Services (GEES) to maintain the CFM56-7 engines powering the airline's fleet of Boeing 737-700/-800 aircraft. In July, the airline ordered 50 firm 737s that are scheduled to begin delivery in June 2004.

F136 Team Completes Phase III Critical Design Review

August 18, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - The GE Rolls-Royce Fighter Engine Team has successfully accomplished the Phase III Critical Design Review (CDR) of its F136 propulsion systems for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). The JSF Joint Program Office (JPO) determined that the GE Rolls-Royce team met all the review objectives, clearing the way for the first full engine tests in July 2004.
The GE Rolls-Royce Fighter Engine Team comprises: GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA; Rolls-Royce plc in Bristol, UK and Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

China Airlines Selects GE Jet Engines For New Wide-Body Fleet

August 13, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- China Airlines, the leading carrier of Taiwan, selected GE Aircraft Engines to power 22 wide-body passenger and cargo aircraft in an engine order valued at more than $600 million.
