January 05, 2004 -- Evendale, OH - GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) has completed its acquisition of the Agfa-Gevaert Non-Destructive Testing (Agfa NDT) business unit, following receipt of all required regulatory approvals. December 22, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio--The EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) has certified the GE90-115B, the world's most powerful jet engine, at an unprecedented 115,000 pounds of thrust.
EASA oversees regulatory tasks in the field of aviation safety for the European Union, which represents 16 countries and grows to 26 countries in 2004. The EASA approval follows the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) engine certification of the GE90-115B in July 2003.

December 09, 2003 -- EVENDALE, OHIO - A GE90-115B development engine has completed 3,000 cycles and three 330-minute diversions as part of an extended twin-engine operations (ETOPS) ground demonstration. During the ETOPS ground demonstration, the development engine was the first GE90-115B engine to operate at more than two times the production vibration limits in both the high-pressure and low-pressure systems at multiple thrust levels.

December 8, 2003 -- DUBAI - Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, has selected the GE-P&W Engine Alliance GP7200 engine to power the airline's follow-on order for 23 Airbus A380 aircraft.
The contract award calls for the GE-PW Engine Alliance to supply 92 installed and 9 spare GP7200 engines to power a fleet of 21 A380s purchased by Emirates, as well as two A380 aircraft leased from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). The delivery of these A380 aircraft, which will be configured for 550 passengers, begins in 2009.
