GE Power Conversion, in partnership with Sulzer Electro Mechanical Services (EMS), announced the supply of a custom built synchronous motors for end-user Phoenix Cement Company, which operates under the Salt River Materials Group (SRMG). The motor, a 1,500 hp, 30-pole synchronous motor with collector rings, provides 20% greater power capacity than its predecessor – without causing unnecessary downtime for installation.

  • Indeck Niles Energy Center, powered by two of GE’s highly efficient 7HA.02 gas turbines, adds over 1 gigawatt (GW) of power in Michigan, the equivalent needed to power approximately 635,000 US homes 
  • For the project, GE delivered H-Class combined cycle plant equipment and is expected to provide parts, repairs and maintenance services for 25 years, while Kiewit provided engineering procurement construction capabilities
  • Plant achieved the start of operation safely and with high standard of quality
