中国上海--2005年12月8日--为进一步拓展在本地区的业务，加强本地资源以满足北京2008年奥运会对临时电力的需求，GE能源集团成立了在华首个能源租赁设施并于今天隆重揭幕。
GE中国能源租赁的机组坐落于浙江杭州萧山经济开发区GE新近落成的水力发电厂内，GE将籍此为中国以及周边亚洲国家的客户提供临时电力及空调的全面解决方案。
"新落成的能源租赁设施不仅能够为我们中国的客户缩短交付时间，同时还能为他们降低成本，" GE能源集团中国区总裁兼首席执行官福莱德说，"通过提供电力设备租赁以及相关服务，该设施将成为GE支持2008年北京奥运会的一个主要体现。"
今年早些时候，作为8年奥运会全球合作伙伴赞助项目的一部分，GE发布了它和第29届奥林匹克运动会组织委员会（北京奥组委）的合作伙伴消息。
通过这个新设施，GE的能源租赁业务将提供一系列的设备以满足远程、临时、后备、冷却、调峰等方面的发电需求，其服务范围将包括应用工程、交付、安装、运行以及维护。
GE的能源租赁业务于2000年悉尼奥运会后在亚洲首次设立运营机构。此后它在包括澳大利亚、印度尼西亚、菲律宾、越南以及中国在内的亚太地区都赢得了大型电力项目。GE的能源租赁亚太区业务以新加坡为中心向各地提供全方位的工程支持。
