GE日立ニュークリア・エナジー（GEH）は本日、同社の改良型沸騰水型原子炉（ABWR）の設計認証更新を米国原子力規制委員会（NRC）に申請したと発表しました。ABWRはその技術が実証されており、原子力発電所を新規に建設する場合のコストの確実性が高い等、数多くの利点を有しています。
現在のABWR設計認証の有効期限は2012年6月で、GEHはこの時点から15年間の設計認証の延長を申請しました。今回の申請には、NRCの現在の必要条件である航空機落下対策を施した設計上の重要な改良が含まれています。
Developing Health Program Aims to Improve Local Access to Primary Care
FAIRFIELD, Conn.--09 December 2010-- The GE Foundation--the philanthropic organization of GE-- and the GE Corporate Diversity Council today announced $1.25 million in grants to five Fairfield County community health centers with the goal of increasing access to primary care for uninsured and underserved populations across the county.
