Fairfield, Conn., April 21, 2011 --The Board of Directors of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) today raised the Company's quarterly dividend $0.01 from $0.14 per outstanding share of the Company's common stock to $0.15 per outstanding share of the Company's common stock. The Board declared that the dividend is payable July 25, 2011 to shareowners of record at the close of business on June 20, 2011. The ex-dividend date is June 16, 2011.

Fourth-consecutive quarter of double-digit earnings growth
* Operating earnings of $3.6 billion, up 58%; operating EPS of $0.33, up 65%
* GAAP earnings of $3.4 billion, up 48%; GAAP EPS of $0.31, up 48%
Strong top-line performance in an improving environment
The Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP for Welwyn Hatfield visited GE Healthcare UK & Ireland's headquarters in Hatfield recently. Bettina Fitt, UK&I General Manager for GE Healthcare introduced the MP, who is also Minister of State for Housing and Local Government, to GE's operations in the UK and to GE Healthcare.
During the visit the issues that the UK medical technology and health sector is facing were discussed, as was progress of the Government's proposed health reforms.
